JavaScript Engineer

As a member of the Ventus team, the JavaScript Engineer will be responsible for development and maintenance of the company's web application and web interface for new and ongoing projects. 

Responsibilities include:

  • New development and maintenance of existing (web) applications

  • Assessing project requirements

  • Create technical solutions that provide users with a range of devices and abilities

  • Produce, implement and design and test products and procedures.

  • Document the process

  • Assist and provide technical software life cycle support

  • Maintain knowledge of existing production applications and emerging technology 


  • JavaScript proficiency, including ES6/ESNext features

  • Working knowledge in modern JS frameworks, especially MVC/MVVM (experience with Knockout a big plus)

  • Proven experience architecting SPA (Single Page App)

  • Proficiency with Webpack (v4 preferred), including written custom loaders

  • Familiarity with NPM/Yarn package managers and the NodeJS ecosystem

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS + Preprocessors (SASS/SCSS) + Postprocessors (Post CSS) and relevant modules including- autoprefixer & normalize

  • Experience consuming REST API's

  • Git Proficiency

  • Comfortable inside the terminal, familiar with basic Linux/Unix commands

  • Understanding the process of web app deployment and how to execute it

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience

  • 1-3 years experience with Web Development

  • SQL/RDBMS, Perl and AWS exposure a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
